Join us for a Kundalini yoga class designed for the writers’ creative mind, spirit and care for the physical body. The class will be taught by the owner of The Spokane Yoga Shala, Ara Lyman. Please stick around following the class for a reading from poets Ellen Welcker and Janaka Stucky. The reading is free and open to the public.
The meditative and spiritual core of this yoga practice will be perfect for writers who are interested in how the body, mind, and the soul have an effect on the more mystical aspects of poetry.
All experience levels are welcome. Wear clothing you are comfortable moving and breathing in. Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat (we have extra mats too).

Janaka Stucky is a mystic poet, performer, and founding editor of the award-winning press, Black Ocean. Janaka’s most recent collection, Ascend, Ascend, was written over the course of twenty days, coming in and out of trance states brought on by intermittent fasting and somatic rituals while secluded in the tower of a 100-year-old church. He is also the author of The Truth is We Are Perfect, and The World Will Deny it For You.
