Brett Enlow MD

For most of my life I have had a deep interest in various aspects of eastern philosophy and psychology. My interests in meditation have to do with the healing qualities we as individuals can bring to our lives. As a local emergency physician, I have been fortunate to have witnessed the incredible creativity, resilience, and grace people show in the midst of often dire circumstances. Such qualities seem to emerge from a deeply grounded presence in the moment as it is happening. Such patients have been a source of awe to me and have inspired me to pursue mindfulness meditation as a means of cultivating moment to moment awareness to further explore these amazing human potentials. I believe that such engagement has the potential to bring greater physical and mental wellness to our lives. I would be honored to have the opportunity to explore this incredible territory with you!

I have been working as a board certified emergency physician at Holy Family Hospital since 2002 and have served as the credentialing chair for this hospital since January of 2009. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2005 with much of my focus surrounding the methods developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and his collegue Saki Santorelli at the Mind-Body Stress Reduction Clinic at University of Massachusetts Medical School. In 2008 I completed a training retreat led by Drs. Kabat-Zinn and Santorelli designed to help health care practitioners further explore their own meditative practice as well as methods for sharing such a practice with others. In 2009 I attended a 10 day silent meditation retreat with Jack Kornfield through the Insight Meditation Society where I continued to explore meditation in the vipassana tradition.
